Why I built 5472Direct
When I opened my US LLC, an email from my formation service told me about Form 5472. Their price to handle it was high, so I asked: can I do this myself?
Every answer said no. “Don’t try this yourself. The penalty is $25,000.”
I don’t like being told I can’t do something. So I read the IRS instructions, CPA guides and expert videos. I’m a software developer, and I saw that for most single-member LLCs, this form follows the same few rules every time. Software can handle that.
So I built the tool I wanted: cheaper, faster, and honest about its limits. My own LLC was the first filing. If your case is complex, we tell you before you pay and point you to a CPA.
